Sex with a Sailor - The Story of John & Joanna

What happens Next???????

Well, we don't want to give away any spoilers, but we DO have a very good Book 5 in the works for our series. Book 5 is planned to be the final installment of the Sex with a Sailor series and will end the story of our protagonists, John and Joanna.  Forever? No way of telling.... yet! But it will end this chapter of their relationship.

What we WILL tell you is that Book 5 not only has some more sexual adventures between the two, but the emotional tensions will finally come to a head.
Doesn't that have to happen eventually? In all relationships?  You know it!!

And while we are at it, what do you all think so far? If you haven't already, please write a review for our story.  We could use some praise and/or critique from you, our dear readers.

Ice Cubes?

What can you do with an Ice Cube?

In Book 4 of Sex with a Sailor, Joanna and John experiment with Ice Cubes.  While they can show you a thing or two in the book, we have also taken the liberty of sharing an article from Cosmo Magazine that tells you all about...

10 Sexy Things to Do with Ice

Try these frosty tricks for a ridiculously hot night.

1. Begin with a slightly melted ice cube in your mouth. Kiss your guy and pass it back and forth. As it gets smaller and smaller, hide it in different places so he has to try to find it with his tongue.
2. Use the ice cube to trace a chilly path along his naked body and then follow it with your tongue. The temp change will heighten his pleasure, while the anticipation of watching where your lips go will send him over the edge.
3. Put the ice in your man's hand and guide it so that he draws circles around the outside of your breasts, slowly working his way toward your nipples.
4. While giving your guy oral, alternate putting your lips over his penis and lightly rubbing his shaft with the ice cube. The combination of your warm mouth and chilly temperature will make his jaw drop.
5. Ask him to touch you with it over your thin-skinned spots: wrists, inner elbow, behind your knees. Stimulating those sensitive areas feels so sensual.
6. When your guy is going down on you, have him alternate between lightly touching your clitoris with the ice and using his mouth and tongue. If you're extra-sensitive down there, try it with your underwear on.
7. Place the ice cube between your breasts and run it back and forth so that your skin feels cool and wet, then guide your man's penis between them for a hands-free massage.
8. Have him lightly run the ice cube along the soles and the perimeter of your feet. Believe it or not, the area of the brain that processes touch down there is nearby the zone that registers sensations to your genitals, speeding up your arousal.
9. Give your guy a sexy scalp rub with one hand and use the other to trail the ice along his hairline and temples, all the way down to the base of his neck.
10. Post-sex, slowly move the ice cube across your guy's back for a frisky cooldown, then ask him to return the favor.

Books about Sailing but not about Sex

Books Books Books!
About sailing
Not about sex

About.com compiled a great list of books with the help of author Tom Lochhaas.
http://sailing.about.com/bio/Tom-Lochhaas-56544.htm

Tom, who is an experienced sailor of many years as well as a notably published author, compiled the below list and gave his reviews of the books.  This list can also be viewed at
http://sailing.about.com/od/resourcesforsailors/a/Best-Sailing-Books.htm

Sailing, Seamanship, and Boat Maintenance

  • John Vigor's The Seaworthy Offshore Sailboat is the best book you can read when shopping for the right sailboat to take offshore or to learn how to upgrade your own sailboat for offshore sailing or extended cruising.
  • Chapman's Piloting & Seamanship for 65 editions and almost a century has been the classic tome about virtually everything related to boats - the book many older sailors grew up trusting.
  • Nigel Calder’s How to Read a Nautical Chart does much more than teach the basics: it provides critical information about how to interpret chart accuracy especially when using electronic charts.
  • John Rousmaniere's Annapolis Book of Seamanship like Chapman's is thorough and almost as encyclopedic, with a bit more of a sailing focus.
  • Robby Robinson's International Marine Book of Sailing is a great book for learning to sail - but is much more. It gets you sailing right away as you then read on to learn more about seamanship, navigation, and all the basics of sailing. Wonderfully well written.
  • Don Casey's Complete Illustrated Sailboat Maintenance Manual is the best reference book for learning how to repair, maintain, and care for your boat.
  • Beth Leonard's The Voyager's Handbook is the must-have bible for preparing for and then going long-distance cruising under sail.
  • Bill Seifert’s Offshore Sailing is a hugely practical compendium of practical information for any sailor heading offshore or on a longer coastal cruise.
  • John Vigor’s The Practical Mariner's Book of Knowledge will inform you much more about boats and sailing than you could imagine.
  • Paul Keller's Cruising for Seniors has useful information and some good reading for anyone wondering about how long-term sail cruising may or should be different once you're old enough to start thinking such thoughts.
  • Sailing: Catching the Drift of Why We Sailis a brilliant book exploring the philosophy and meaning of sailing in all its aspects.
  • The Sailor’s Book of Small Cruising Sailboats is a great starting point for anyone shopping for a trailerable sailboat or pocket cruiser.
  • The U.S. Navy SEAL Survival Handbookcontains a lot of useful information for offshore sailors who might find themselves in a survival situation.
  • Miles Kendall’s Sailing Pocket Companion is a curious little sailing miscellany intended to be more fun than useful.
  • Sailors' Secrets by Michael Badham and Robby Robinson is a compendium of almost everything you will someday need to know about sailing or dealing with boat stuff.

Sailing Narratives

Sailors have always told their own stories of their sailing adventures, and many hundreds have been published over the last century. The best of these not only are a good read as a story but also can teach a lot about how to enjoy sailing at its finest and to avoid mishaps at sea.
  • Bernard Moitessier's memoir The Long Way is one of the best-ever narratives of a philosophic master sailor singlehanding around the world.
  • Voyages of a Simple Sailor by Roger D. Taylor is a collection well-written sailing narratives in which the sailor-philosopher also teaches self-sufficiency and independence.
  • Tania Aebi's Maiden Voyage chronicles her 30-month solo circumnavigation begun at age 18, a story of adventure and maturation at sea.
  • Beth Leonard's Blue Horizons collects together wonderfully well written columns she wrote during a 6-year navigation - a bright portrait of a couple's life cruising under sail.
  • Chris Stewart's Three Ways to Capsize a Boat is a memoir about learning to sail and adventuring in the Greek Isles and across the Atlantic - a charming and very funny book.
  • Patricia Vellinga's Sailing There tells a great story about crossing Europe by canal and then sailing all over the Med - an enjoyable sailing travelogue.
  • Torre DeRoche's Swept: Love with a Chance of Drowning is a true tale about an inexperienced sailor cruising off into adventure with her boyfriend in a small sailboat across the South Pacific - a great read!
  • Michael Cosgrove's Imperfect Passage is a story of crossing the Pacific in a 40-foot sailboat, visiting tropical islands, and experiencing terror at sea. It's quite an adventure as well as a personal quest.
  • Michael Hurley's Once Upon a Gypsy Moon is a memoir less about the sailing itself than an autobiographical sketch involving an inner adventure.
  • Matt Vance’s How to Sail a Boat explores in delightful stories and personal essays the grand and tawdry experiences of a sailing writer who is both thoughtful and humorous sailor.
  • Michael Tougias's A Storm Too Soon is a true story of rescues after a hurricane-like storm sinks three sailboats.

Novels Involving Sailing

  • Bernard Cornwell's Wildtrack is among the very best sailing novels in part because it so skillfully blends its sailing dimension with traditional aspects of the thriller novel complete with love interests, subplots, and international intrigue as well as a cast of interesting characters and villains.
  • Cornwall's Stormchild is another thriller novel involving a lot of sailing.
  • Christine Kling's thriller Circle of Bones is a well-written, engaging, suspenseful novel set on boats and Caribbean islands.
  • Mitch Davies' novel Better Than Ever, Again is an action adventure tale involving sailing in the South Pacific, but read this review before getting too excited.

Cruising Guides

It's important to know where you're going when cruising!

Sailing Photography

  • Sailing Fascination by Heinrich Hecht has hundreds of beautiful photos of sailboats and the people on them, but it's much more than just pretty pictures.
  • Nautical Antiques is a beautiful book of photos of scrimshaw, antique navigation instruments, and much more – perfect for those with a love of maritime history.

Sailing Magazines

While everyone knows the newsstand glossies SAIL and Cruising World, two other sailing magazines are actually more useful to most sailors:
  • Good Old Boat Magazine is chock-full of articles covering almost everything you need to keep your sailboat running or make upgrades you can do yourself.
  • Small Craft Advisor magazine maintains a steadfast approach to boating of the smaller scale practiced by so many enthusiasts and do-it-yourselfers.
  • Blue Water Sailing is primarily intended for sailors with advanced skills and ambitions for long-distance cruising and provides in-depth information for those preparing for serious voyages.

Sailing Cookbooks

Here's one of the best to start with:
  • The One Pan Galley Gourmet by Don Jacobson and John Roberts has 170 varied, easy-to-cook recipes suitable for both herbivore and carnivore, with choices for both those with spicy tastes and those who may need blander food after a day of rollicking waves.

Fifty Shades of Grey? Fifteen Reasons to Read "Sex with a Sailor" next...

1. In Sex with a Sailor, the female protagonist, Joanna, is not a clumsy college co-ed like Ana.  She does not have to trip or stumble to get powerful men to notice her. How refreshing... a young lady who can walk and talk without stumbling!

2. John doesn't have to draw up a contract to get what he wants.  He doesn't make even close to the money that Christian commands but he knows how to get what he wants from women without money or "sign here" forms.

3. Fifty Shades of Grey takes place mainly on the West coast where it constantly rains and is overcast. How dull and depressing is that?  Sex with a Sailor takes us to the sunny tropical setting of Florida and the Florida Keys. Florida is the Sunshine State. the exact opposite of Washington State!

4. Christian buys Ana an Apple laptop computer. Apple? Really?  We like IBM!

5.  We made sure to give you BDSM in Sex with a Sailor.  You liked it in Fifty Shades of Grey, right? Want to read about it some more? Here it is!

6. Joanna doesn't break up with John after experiencing BDSM.  She wants more!

7. Fifty Shades of Grey is about 20 something singles.  Sex with a Sailor is about 30 and 40 something singles, and particularly, newly divorced single gals. They need love too!

8. Christian has a helicopter. John has a boat.  Well, Christian has a boat too, but what doesn't Christian have?

9. When John purchases cable ties, masking tape and rope at a hardware store, they're specifically for his boat... or are they?

10. John and Joanna will show you that you can have a craving for dominant/submissive role play and still be a normal person without weird psychological scars to enjoy it...

11. If you were using Fifty Shades of Grey to keep company with your vibrator, you will be able to enjoy using Sex with a Sailor in the same way.

12. Wouldn't you have loved to know what Christian Grey was thinking throughout the book? Sex with a Sailor gives you an erotic romance story from both the man's and the woman's perspectives.

13. Are you sick of hearing about Anastasia's "Inner Goddess?" Time to go back to characters who don't have a fantasy persona living inside of them who does stuff like the merengue with some salsa moves and jumping up and down with cheer-leading pom-pons.

14. After reading a trilogy featuring a main character who is a 27 year-old, gorgeous billionaire, who is a Harvard dropout, who owns many companies, a helicopter, a boat, an airplane, and who secretly practices BDSM, it will be very refreshing to read about a man from the real world, with a real job and real problems.  Meet John...a real man who does not need a red room of pain to entertain the ladies.

15. Sex with a Sailor is not compared to or parodied off of any other previously written books.  Fifty Shades of Grey was some kind of weird spin off from the popular Twilight Series.  Its time to go back to reading books that stand alone.

If having sex on a plane is called the mile high club what is it called when you have sex on a boat?

THAR SHE BLOWS!!!

The mile Out Club

If the boat is a submarine, it's called "going down".

These are the best answers we have read, heard or found so far.
Other suggestions are welcome!

REASONS SAILING IS BETTER THAN SEX

• You don’t have to hide your collection of sailboat magazines.

• It’s perfectly acceptable to pay a professional to Sail with you once in a while.

• The Ten Commandments don’t say anything about Sailing.

• If your partner takes pictures or videotapes of you Sailing your boat, you don’t have to worry about them showing up on the Internet if you become famous.

• Your Sailing partner doesn’t get upset and really does forget about people you sailed with long ago.

• It’s perfectly respectable to Sail with a total stranger.

• When you see a really good Sailor, you don’t have feel guilty about imagining the two of you Sailing together.

• If your regular Sailing partner isn’t available, they won’t object or criticize if you Sail with someone else.

• Nobody will ever tell you that if you Sail by yourself, you’ll go blind.

• When dealing with a Sailing pro, you never have to wonder if he’s really an undercover cop.

• You can have a Sailing calendar on your wall at the office, tell Sailing jokes, and invite coworkers to Sail with you without getting sued for harassment or sex discrimination at work

• There are no Sailing-transmitted diseases.

• If you want to watch Sailing on television, you don’t have to subscribe to the Playboy channel and you don’t need to feel guilty watching on the family TV.

• Nobody expects you to Sail with the same partner for the rest of your life.•

• Nobody expects you to give up Sailing if your partner loses interest in it.

• Your Sailing partner will never say, “Not again? We just Sailed last week! Is Sailing all you ever think about?”
